The following is a brief list of documents that proove the links of Jamaat-e-Islam Bangladesh with terrorism and fundamentlism. Needless to say that the Nizami-Khaleda government has always been shouting that there are no terrorists in Bangladesh. Anyone and everyone who suggested otherwise were branded unpatriotic.

“Madhu Mia and Fariduddin Fakim raped Kanti Khatun, 16, of Fulchari upazila on January 31. On March 24, Fulchari Senior Madrasa Principal Sirajul Islam and Lecturer Aminul Islam sentenced both the accused and the victim to 57 lashes.
Munshi Abdus Samad, Mohsin Ali, Abdur Rashid, Shaju Mia, Mokles and Khoka Mia executed the verdict. The victim Kanti Begum fell unconscious after 51 lashes while Madhu and Fariduddin managed to flee after taking 27 lashes.”

The documents relating to the liberation war of Bangladesh have been rapidly disappearing from the libraries across Bangladesh and the government archives. Many of these historical documents are either destroyed because of lack of proper preservation or missing for reasons yet to be known.
Against this backdrop, beginning summer of 2005, the Liberation War Museum (LWM), Bangladesh and the North Carolina Center for South Asia Studies (NCCSAS), USA, have embarked on a project with a goal to preserve the historical documents of the war of liberation of Bangladesh.

Leading intellectual Professor Kabir Chowdhury and Shahriar Kabir in a joint statement demanded the ban on all Islamist organizations from Bangladesh.
This demand came after reports of growing influence of the militant group Hizbut Tahrir (HuT) in university campuses, mainly the North South University (NSU).
HuT has been banned from most of the countries in Central Asia and Middle East. Even Pakistan, a country where Islamists walk freely, has banned HuT in 2003.
